Pastoral
Care
Pastoral Care is a significant part of what the Chaplains do ie there is
a willingness to sit with you, either in the delights or the demands of
your life. In doing so there may be the opportunity for the Chaplain to
offer a spiritual perspective and traditional resources to support this
pastoral ministry.
The
Chaplains are offering relationship – a willingness to ‘see’ the
things you ‘see’.
Hence,
our Hospital Chaplains are likely to:

Invite
a conversation, initiated by what’s happening to you

Encourage
you to share your needs
-
Better
understand your needs and support you in them through caring,
listening and clarifying

Perhaps
use some of the traditional resources (eg prayer)
Chapel
The Memorial Hospital provides a Chapel open to all.
There is also a simple service of worship offered by the Chaplain
most Sunday mornings.
Accredited
Chaplains
In addition to the ACHA Chaplains, each site also has a number of
accredited chaplains and pastoral care volunteers.
Clinical
Pastoral Education
Ashford Hospital is an accredited centre for training in Clinical
Pastoral Education.
